Good morning bloggin friends!!

This is just a quick post to show you three cards I made using TAW's stamps. Between my "real life" job, DT duties, housework duties and all the duties we all have I have been squeezing moments to keep playing with my stamps. Ohh, and don't forget to visit Alison's store to see the new additions for February. They are great!! I am waiting for my next pay check o buy more of these cuties ;)

My first two cards are made with Priceless Joy.

This is a baby set, but as you see you can use it for any type of card.

My third card for today was made using Kitchen Gadgets. I love that Blender!!!!

I added some clear distress crackle paint to the glass. I should have used a permanent marker like a Copic to paint the hearts to avoid the ink to bleed, but I still love the results!!

I hope you have a great Monday. Mine will be a hard day at work but still it will be great. Hope my cards have inspired you to create something nice and don't forget to pay a visit to Alison.

Can't wait to see what she has for us on March!!!!

A CELEBRATION CAS SET

Hi blogger friends,

Today I have been extremely busy watching TV and making cards LOL! OK, I admit that may not be the most hardest work on the face of the earth but taking into consideration that tomorrow starts a new week full of deadlines and a full workload, having a leisure day was almost a moral obligation. I still need to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen before going to bed, but first things first...right?

I want to share with you a set of 4 cards I made for today's challenge at Capture the Moment. PTI is celebrating their 5th year anniversary and for the next 10 days or so they are going to have challenges and lots of fun stuff going on at their blog.

This time I decided to use as a source of inspiration this project from Maile Belles. Who would guess I'll pick a project full of bright colors as an inspiration to make mine ;) I was attracted by the simplicity of the sketch. I used four background sets from PTI and the Think Big Favorites #7.

Hola!

Desde hacen varias semanas me encontré en Pinterestesta imagen la cual encontré simplemente hermosa. Inmediatamente me di a la tarea de encontrar un sketch que me sirvierade base para crear una tarjeta con una ventana similar a la de la foto. Encontré el mismo en el blog Freshly Made Sketches. Decidí utilizar un file de SVGCuts – Townhouse Window SVG Mini Pack el cual considero súper apropiadopara este proyecto y pos supuesto era el momento perfecto para usar mi nuevoset de PaperSmooches Vogue Abode. La realidad esque esas ventanitas son uno de los primeros files que compré en esa tienda yapenas lo he utilizado. Pero que buenocuando tenemos las herramientas apropiadas para un proyecto que nos viene a lamente!!

Esta vez decidí crear un videoque detalla en forma resumida el proceso creativo de la tarjeta. Es mi primer video así que no es perfecto,pero si esta hecho con mucho cariño. WOW! Ha sido un proceso largopero bien entretenido.

Para este año 2012 me heretado en preparar videítos con tarjetas y proyectos. Aun no tengo manera de grabar en vivo miproceso creativo, pero tan pronto logre conseguir la forma estaremos en caminode tener tutoriales en español con subtítulos en ingles. Por el momento, los tenemos en inglés porquehay que practicar el difícil como dice mi papá.

A few week ago I came across this picture inPinterest. I knew immediately that Ineeded to make a card using it as a source of inspiration. I went to my reader to look for a sketch touse as a starting point for my card. I foundit at Freshly Made Sketches. I decided to use a file from SVG Cuts – Townhouse Window SVG MiniPack and of course it was time to ink my new PaperSmooches VogueAbode Set. The file from SVG Cutswas one of the first I bought from that company and I hardly use it… but, Isn’tit great to have the necessary tools when you want to make a project?

This time I challenged myself to create a short videodescribing my creative process. It’s myfirst video ever, so please be kind LOL!

For this year I have challenged myself to make a fewvideos, tutorials and share cut files created by me. It’s time I give back a little of thewonderful things I have received from Blogland.

The Ribbon Reel

This week I got to play with an image from Dearie Dolls named Valentine Arbor. Love this image because it requires to make a complete scene, and you know how much I love to do sponging with my Distress Inks!! I also used watercolor and Prismacolor pencils to color the image. This is my first experience with Prismacolors and I love these pencils!! I see more colors added to my stash in a near future :)

I really don't know what is happening to my camera lately that is not giving me good quality photos. Still I finally got one that looks relatively good.

Today’s card was inspired by Julie’s day 10 video on the CASclass I’ve been taking at Online Class. I am loving this negative die cutting thing!! It’s a great way to stretch our papers. I used my digital cutter and prepare the filesince I didn’t have a die with the proper dimension for this idea.

MY FIRST KNK CREATION

Hola!!

Este fin desemana al fin logré hacer que mi maquina KNK Maxx se comunicara con mi computadora. Estuvepracticando primero con el bolígrafo haciendo dibujos para ir acostumbrándome ala misma. Ayer en la noche decidí que yaera hora de comenzar a trabajar con la navaja. Luego de varios papeles echados a perder L logré cortar estas tarjetitas que hice para la clase que estoy tomandode “Clean and Simple Cards”. El corte dela máquina es espectacular, y eso que aun me falta perfeccionar el “set up” dela misma. Lo próximo es aprender ausarla para cortar fieltro y madera balsa. Ya estaré compartiendo con ustedes mis aventuras con KNK. Por el momento las dejo con el primer set quehice con la maquinita.

Hi!

Over the last weekend Ifinally was able to establish communicationbetween my KNK cutter and the computer. I started practicing with the pen to get acquaintancewith the basic setups. Yesterday Idecided it was time to start playing with the blade and after wasting a fewcardstocks I was able to cut this card set. I made it to continue practicing for the Clean and Simple Cards class Iam taking at the Online Classes site. Iam amazed at the quality of the cuts of this machine, even though I am stilllearning how to make the proper setups for each type of paper. After I master paper, my next move is to cutfelt and balsa wood. So I will keep youupdated on my progress with the machine. For the moment here is my first set made with it.

Recibí dela compañía Stamps of Life el set Letters 2 Color. Yo nunca le había dado importancia a los sets de abecedarios hasta hace algunosmeses. I received a wonderful stamp set from The Stamps of Lifenamed Letters 2 Color. Since a fewmonths I never even looked at ABC’s stamp sets but now I am in love withthem. I have discovered that with only anice word or letter can make a card beautiful. This has taken me a few copy papers to practice, but what theheck!! I buy them in Costco and they arecheap LOL!!!

Day 1 – Simple Sketches with Kristina

Hoycomienza la clase Clean & Simple Cardmaking en el site Online Classes deJennifer y Kristina. La primera clase secentra en sketches sencillos y en hacer tu tarjeta con un solo “layer”. Les muestro la tarjeta que hice luego de verel video de Kristina. Las que me conocensaben que mi concepto de la sencillez es bien complicado por lo que cuando vieste curso sabía que era para mi. Una demis metas para este año es hacer más tarjetas con el estilo sencillo y alegre “Cleanand Fun”. Así que con esto en mentedecidí tomar este curso. Aquí les dejomi tarjetita ;)

Today start the online class Clean & Simple Cards withJennifer and Kristina. Today’s posthighlights simple card sketches and how to make a single layer card. Here I how you the card I made following oneof the sketches after viewing Kristina’s video. When I saw the sneak peek for this class I knew it was for me. I have a very complicated sense of what simpleis, so hopefully this class will help me grab the sense of what a simple cardmust be ;) One of my resolutions forthis year is to make more clean and fun cards. So with this in mind I decided to participate in this class, besides thefact that I love these events!!!

Here ismy card:

Tengo untip para hoy. Yo creo mis propios “masks”haciendo uso de papel de copia o cardstocks que no me gusten y la pega Tac kit Over& Over. Para este tipo de tarjetaque va a ser de una sola capa, es bueno proteger la parte posterior de lamisma. Haciendo uso de papel de copia yesta pega reposicionable, yo hago mis propios masks. Esto me economiza dinero porque sustituyotener que comprar el “Masking Paper” de Inkadinkado.

I have a tip for today’s class. I make my own Masking Paper with Aleene’sTack it Over and Over and cheapcardstock or copy paper (depending on how much I will use the mask). This has the same results as the MaskingPaper from Inkadinkado and saves me a few bucks. Here is a photo of the mask I made for mycard:

Aunque hoyes feriado, ya me tengo que ir a trabajar pues en la oficina tenemos variosproyectos especiales que requyieren que hagamos de lado el disfrutar nuestro díaferiado. Pero no me quería ir sin antestener mi dosis de terapia creativa para darme energía para el día. Espero que disfruten y que pasen un hermosolunes!!

Hi,

Today I finally found the other project I made using a Raindrop Echo Designs digital Stamp. For this project I used one of the stamps in the Inspirational Sentiments set. This is a hybrid project since the background is a digital paper that I printed with only a portion of the quote. I also used the stamp to make a digital cut file.

For the background I stamped some doilies with a Maya Road stamp and use some home made glimmer mist to add shine. On the parts I cut using my Cricut (the flower and two of the words) I used glossy accents to add more dimension.

I really love to find different uses for my digital stamps. I think they are extremely versatile and with a little imagination you can create something really nice. I still need to mat this quote and it will be placed on a frame. Don't worry. I will take a pic of it and share it with you ;)

CHRISTMAS STAR BOX

Hi!!

Before I start cleaning my apartment I want to share a box I made back on April for a Paper Crafts magazine call. It was rejected but I love it, that's for sure. To make it I used the Vintage Paper Rosettes SVG Kit from SVG Cuts file.

I also used the Paper Trey Ink stamp set Tree Trimming Trio with the matching die to cut the tree. The DP Paper Collection is from Making Memories. I love the colors and the vintage feeling of these papers!!

For the bow, I used a ribbon from Stampin Up I really love... My God! Isn't that a lovely ribbon?? I love how how this bow turned out, just perfect for the box ;) I also used two pearl trinkets from Maya Road and a wood heart I bought at a local craft store.

You know that I love my projects to be perfectly finished so I cut two stars slightly smaller than the box size, stamped them and cover the inside of the box. This not only adds a finish touch but gives the box more stability.

Raindrop Echo Designs Winner’s Choice of 4 Digi Sentiment Sets

For my card I used a digital stamp from Raindrop Echo Design Christmas Sentiments. Love that set!! I added some sparkle to the sentiment but for some reason my camera is not working properly and this is the best pic I could get.

The trees are stitched you know I love stitching!!.

I couldn't resist the urge to play a little more with another set from Raindrop Echo Design. I will have to show you the project I made later since shame to meeeee I could't find it :(

She Celebrates Life

Hi Friends,

I just got from a crop birthday of one of my friends. We had a great time laughing and making cards, What better way to spend a day with your friends?

This is the card I made my friend. The image is the digital stamp Rosie Frames #2 from Dilli Beans Stamps. I discovered this store yesterday browsing blogs and was instantly in love with this framed girls.

To paint it I used distress inks, watercolor pencils, India ink and a fine line pen.

I didn't use any embellishment on the card since I love so much the image I wanted it to stand alone. Here you have a full view of the card. For sure, I will be buying these girls since I love them and they looks perfect for mixed media projects.

Enjoy what's left of your Sunday. I am going to take a little nap and then prepare my thing for a new week full of challenges and not so fun things to do ;)

GRAPHIC CHRISTMAS SET

Hi!!

I keep working on my holiday cards. Yesterday I made one card I will share later, but today I want to show you this set I made for my aunt "Titi Sofy". I hope she gives them away, it's funny that I give her my cards and she never wants to give them... but why??? I have so much paper and I can always make her new cards. Oh well, maybe this year...

For the cards I used a file from A Little Hut. Love her graphic files and this one was very fun to work with. I cut the image in a 3x3 square, which make it more difficult to deal with, but in the end I love the results.

I printed the sentiment since I wanted the card to be in Spanish and I wanted it to be personalized.

I even made coordinating envelopes with colored copy paper and a file from My Scrapchick and the labels are from My Grafico.

I guess I am goig to take a little break now to watch some TV with my hubby and do some laundry. Hope you like the set and I will take a pic of it once I wrapped it ;)

HALF CIRCLE CHRISTMAS TREES

Hi!!

Today that I am free at home to make whatever I like to do and my daddy is cooking for us ;) This is a wonderful day!!!!

Have I told you I am enjoying the Holidays Card Boot-camp of Jennifer and Kristina!! They are giving me tons of ideas to incorporate into my cards. Like this Christmas trees made with a half circle.

I also used an embossing folder with the letter press technique. For the snow, I used Tim Holtz clear rock candy crackle paint and after it was dry I added some tumble glass ink to create some shadows.

Today I am working on other cards so soon I will be showing them.

My card for today is based THE VIDEO from British got talent where Susan Boyle auditioned with the song I dreamed a dream from Les Miserable. There is a quote of C.S. Lewis I love that says “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”. Dreams are a wonderful part of my life. They are the force that keeps me going and fighting. Some of my dreams have become a reality and others has been shattered along the way, always with a purpose and always because God had something better for me.

So today I show you this piece I made which will be framed and displayed at my home as a reminder that even when I reach a dream, I need to find another one just to keep going.

CELEBRATE THE MAGIC

Hi!!

I am still working on building my stash of holiday cards. I want to show you today the second card I made inspired on Jennifer's first day tutorial. I am making a bunch of these cute stars in different sizes. I really love how they look.

For this class I decided to use mostly my stash of holiday papers, which is a LOT of DP ;) For this card I am using an old Stampin Up holiday DP. After giving shape to my star, I applied a coat of Liquid Laminate to add some shine. Also, I find that this coat gives the star more stability since the DP I used is very thin. I also add a rhinestone to the centers of the stars and clored them with a yellow Copic.

I am making three cards of each design which is really helping me build my stash for the Holidays. I need to make not only for myself, but for all the family and friends that comes to my house asking for "their cards" LOL!

Right now I am finishing a Photo Card ;) BTW, have you watched today's class? It's amazing!!!

HOLIDAY BOOT CAMP HAS STARTED!!!

Yeahhh!! I have been waiting this day for a while ;) So I woke up this morning cook :( and then headed to my studio to watch what Kristina and Jennifer had for us today. This will be a quick post since I have to head to my work, but I wanted to share my card.

First of all, Thanks Kristina for that wonderful file, I will use it in many many ways... ;)

This is my card:

OK, I LOOOOVED the look that I got on my cardstock using the picket fence distress stain directly on it. AMAZING!! Here is a close up look of how the same cardstock looks using the paint.

Here is my completed card. Since I love details I added some glitter to the ornament a rhinestone to the bow and a little bird to make my card more whimsical.

Hope you like it!! I am taking two more kits of this card to work and will finish them during my lunch hour ;)

For today's card I used the digital stamp Trimming the Tree from Stretch and Bubbles.

For the background I painted a piece of white cardstock with DI in Broken China and stamped the script background with water. The image was printed on different cardstock and DP and paper pieced. Then I added some rhinestones, pearls and stickles to give the card some shine and dimension.

The background stamp is French Script from Stampin Up and the stars and little ornament is from the set Ornate Ornaments from Lawn Fawn.

Para esta tarjeta usé una imagen digital de Stretch and Bubbles llamada Trees with bird. / For this card I used the digital stamps Trees with Birds from Stretch and Bubbles.

Aquí les muestro el exterior de la tarjeta. Quería que la imagen fuera el foco de atención de la tarjeta por lo que estampé unas palabras en el fondo, pero hice el árbol grande y lo decore con un marcador y diferentes técnicas.

Here is the card front, I used the image and stamped a few words on the background. I wanted the image to be the focus of the card so I made it bid and decorated it with tons of doodling and fun techniques.

Para esta semana decidí que quería preparar un proyecto diferente. Así que decidí crear un arbolito de navidad que pronto estará adornando mi escritorio en la oficina. Para hacer el arbolito utilicé el molde de Paper Trey Christmas tree.

For this week I wanted to create something different. So instead of a card I created a Christmas tree that soon will be decorating my desk at the office. I used the PT die Christmas Tree to make the tree.

Le añadí un muñeco de nieve y un pajarito. Ambos son sellos de Paper Smooches el set Swanky Snowdudes.

I added a showman and a bird. Both images are from Paper Smooches stamp set Swanky Snowdudes.

Para mi tarjeta de esta semana utilicé el set “Blissful Botanicals” de Lawn Fawn. El sentimiento es de Latina Crafters. La tarjeta tiene un estilo mucho mas sencillo de lo que suelo hacer pero me encantó el resultado.

For this week card I used Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals set. The sentiment is from Latina CrafterThe card is much simpler than my usual style, but I still love the results.

Para colorear las hojas utilicé lápices de acuarela y el Dove Blending Pen. Las flores las pinte con los distress inks de Tim Holtz. Las perlitas las pinté con los Copics.

I used watercolor pencils and the Dove blending pen to color the leaves and for the flowers I used distress inks. I painted the pearls using my Copics.

Utilicé la imagen para hacer un “pop up card” . No les parece súper divertido? Esta es una de las cosas que más me gustan de los stamps digitales, que te proveen la flexibilidad de crear y ajustar la imagen a cualquier idea que tengas ;)

I used the image to make a Pop Up Card! Don’t you think it’s super fun!! This is one of the things I love about digital times. They gives you the flexibility to work with your images in any way you want.

Esta semana jugué con un sello de Robyn's Fetish llamado Christmas Trees. Aquí tienen una imagen de cerca, ¿verdad que es bello?

I played this week with an image from Robyn’s Fetish named Christmas Trees. Here is a close up of the trees, they are lovely!!!

Para el reto use mats en tonos plateado y un bolígrafo en gel plateado para añadirle detalles a los arbolitos. En adición utilice un botón plateado para adornar el lazo.

For the card I used silver mats and a silver glitter pen to add some retail and shine to the trees. I also used a solver button to decorate the ribbon bow.

Y aquí tienen la tarjeta final por fuera. Pendientes a la semana que viene ya que estaré presentando el interior de la misma.

Luego de hacerla, me percate de que la técnica que usé es perfecta para el reto de la semana que viene. Así que pendientes porque les va a encantar!!!

El viernes de la semana pasada Miguel y yo celebramos nuestro aniversario #11. Hoy les quiero enseñar la tarjetita que le hice para celebrar este evento. Como en todo matrimonio, ha habido momentos alegres, eventos tristes y muchas peleas. Pero en medio de todo eso, han existido siempre tres ingredientes bien importantes. El amor a Dios, respeto mutuo y mucho amor.

Last Friday Miguel (my hubby) and I celebrated our eleventh anniversary. Today I am showing you the card I made him. As in every marriage, there have been many happy moments, sad events and lots of fights. But in the middle of all that there are three main things that have remained constant. We love God, we respect each other and we feel and show tons of love.

Esta semana tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con una imagen de Copic Marker Scrapbooking llamada Sunflowers. La imagen es preciosa sobre todo porque se presta para utilizar los tonos brillantes que tanto me gustan.

I had the opportunity to work this week with the image Sunflowers from Copic Marker Scrapbooking. I love this image specially since it’s perfect for the brilliant colors I always love to use.

I want to take this opportunity to share this card in the Card a Day Blog which is launching today. Although my full schedule didn’t permitted me to be a designer for this blog, I helped them in the organization of it and we worked very hard to make it possible. This week theme is for celebrations, and with my card I celebrate friendship and love between friends sending all of them a big hug.

Para esta semana me tocó trabajar con una imagen de Prairie Fairy llamada "Gone Fishing". / This week I worked with the image Gone Fishing from Prairie Fairy.

Para colorear la misma utilicé mis Copics y Distress Inks usando la técnica de sponging para la grama, agua y el cielo. / To color it I used my Copics and my distress inks. I sponged the grass, water and sky.

El sentimiento de la tarjeta es tambien de Prairi Fairy el cual imprimí y luego le estampé un banner. Lo corté y luego le pasé clear embossing poder para que resaltara. / The sentiment is from Prairi Fairy too. I printed it and stamped a banner which I paper pieced and then added a coat of clear embossing powder.

Para esta semana me tocó trabajar con la imagen digital “Magazine” de Sassy Studio’s Design. / For this week I worked wit the digi stamps “Magazine” from Sassy Studio’s Design.

Aquí les muestro unos cuantos detalles de la tarjeta. / Here are a few details of the card.

Para la camisa usé un folder para repujado de Stampin Up al cual le aplique tinta rosada. Luego le pase Distress Ink en anaranjado para resaltar los colores. / For the shirt I used an embossing folder from SU with Pink ink and then I applied Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade.

Para el pantalón usé polvo transparente y distress inks en Faded Jean para añadir color. También para la alfombra utilice el embossing plate de canvas de Paper Trey. / For the shorts I used clear embossing powder and distress inks in Faded Jean to color them. In addition, for the rug I used Paper Trey’s canvas embossing plate.

Para el piso utilice un folder de Sizzix y luego le aplique distress inks en Walnut Ink y Old Paper. / For the floor I used a Sizzix embossing plate and then sponged it with distress inks in Walnut Ink y Old Paper.

Finalmente para las costuras del verso use un glazed gel pen de Sakura el cual le da el efecto de repujado. / Finally for the sentiment’s faux switch I used a Sakura glazed gel pen which gives the lines an embossing effect.
